Teddy Bear French Toast

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Loaf of Bread (anyone of your choice, Brioche, Challah, Texas Toast)

  • 1 tablespoon of Rum or Jack Daniels

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Strawberries

  • Blueberries

  • Raspberries

  • 2 Tablespoons of Sugar

  • 1/2 cup of water

So the kids wanna enjoy brunch with the adults to eh? Well why not bring out this sweet treat for the kids. Its something that the whole family can enjoy and make the kids fee; included. With the sweet custard on the toast as well as the delicious fruity compote to pair with. It'll put a smile on you and the kids face during brunch or breakfast time!

Lets start with our sweet berry compote, were gonna mix together our fresh strawberries and blueberries and raspberries. (don't forget to cut the strawberries into quarters and remove the stem) Once those are in a pot, add your sugar and your water and let it cook  for about 10 to 15 mins or until the fruits break down. Once finished set off heat and let cool.

Next is our custard! Lets whisk together our eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg our whisky and our vanilla extract. Once whisked it should smell like a bakery. Now your going to use a cookie cutter to cut your bread into the shape of a bear.( if you don't have a bear than any other thing is fine too.) 

Once your bears are assembled, your going to dip them in the custard and make sure it soaks up the custard. Once they are soaked add them into your medium high heat pan with butter inside and let them cook on each side evenly until they get golden brown! 

Once all your teddy bear warriors have been cooked. Stack them high on top of each other and begin to sprinkle them with powder sugar. Now grab your compote and set up a glorious meal for you and the kids and enjoy .
